The eThekwini Municipality has reported ongoing water supply disruptions due to the demand for treated water surpassing the available supply. This imbalance has been an issue since 2018, as the city’s three major treatment works have reached their full capacity. To address this, the municipality implemented a water rationing plan on June 20, aiming to ensure a balanced and equitable distribution of water to all residents. Despite these efforts, challenges persist, and the municipality continues to explore interventions to stabilize the water supply system. Whilst no longer as frequent, many Durban areas experience Municipal Water Supply Disruptions. Please be assured than, although the water disruptions are beyond our control and all hotels and businesses in the areas are being affected, we are doing our utmost to ensure that we minimise any inconvenience to you, our valued guest. When disruptions occur, we hire water tankers to fill our rooftop JoJo tanks to have as little interrupted water supply as possible. Should there be a disruption during your stay, we apologise sincerely for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate the ongoing Durban Water Crisis.
